Xavier Vilajoana has denied suggestions that Ansu Fati could leave the club during this summer’s transfer window.
The 17-year-old has enjoyed a good playing time season at Camp Nou, having scored five times and one assist in 24 appearances in all competitions.
Manchester United are thought to be admirers of the teenager and are prepared to spend big to bring the attacker to Old Trafford ahead of the 2020-21 season.
According to Vilajoana, the Spanish champions are not prepared to discuss an exit for the Spain Under-21 international, whose current deal is still run until June 2022.
“For us, there’s no story with Ansu, we have never spoken about selling him. We won’t use players from the academy to make cash. In principle, we have no intention of selling the players we believe will make the first team,” Vilajoana told Sport.
Fati has scored four times and registered one assist in 16 La Liga appearances this campaign.
