COVID-19: New Isolation Centre Opened In Lagos State

Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commissioned a 118- bed new  Isolation Centre at Gbagada General Hospital.

He said the facility was revamped over the past two months to accommodate patients who have contracted COVID-19. Governor Sanwo-Olu also stated that the facility has all the expectations of clinical care.

Splashnews recalled that the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, said on

Thursday during the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing in Abuja that there was a shortage of bed spaces in Lagos, which has more than 50 percent of the total Coronavirus cases reported in the country.

meanwhile, Nigeria’s Health Minister, Osagie Ehanire, has also reinforced the views of Dr. Ihekweazu, by begging Nigerians to give-out their building to be used as isolation centers for Coronavirus patients.
