Gov Okowa, wife test positive for COVID-19.

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife, Edith have tested positive for COVID-19.

Okowa made this known on Wednesday on his verified Twitter handle.

He wrote, “My wife and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We are well and continuing with our isolation/medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter.”

The PUNCH had earlier reported that Okowa’s daughter tested positive for the virus which made the entire family go into 14-day self-isolation.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, confirmed the news through a press statement issued on Wednesday, noting that the two heads of the first family in the state have begun necessary treatment and further isolation.

Okowa, according to the statement, assured that his administration would not relent in its efforts at combating the virus in the state.
