The 24-year-old is thought to be United’s top midfield target ahead of the summer transfer window after impressing for a struggling Villa side this season.

Amid repeated links with a move to Old Trafford, however, the Englishman’s agent Jonathan Barnett has revealed that discussions over his future will wait until the end of the campaign.

“Until that is sorted out, we don’t have the discussion. He’s got his priorities right, he has a job and that’s what he’s going to do, he’s going to fight hard for Aston Villa.”
Villa are one point from safety after drawing one and losing one of their two matches since returning to Premier League action last week.
