Nigeria records 649 new COVID-19 cases, toll now 22,020

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 649 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The 649 new cases have brought the nation’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection to 22,020.

The agency made this known via its verified Twitter handle @NCDCgov on Wednesday.

According to the agency, 250 new cases of the virus were reported in Lagos State, 100 in Oyo State, 40 in Plateau State, 40 in the Delta State, 28 in Abia State, 27 in Kaduna State, 22 in Ogun, 20 in Edo State, 18 in Akwa-Ibom State, 17 in Kwara State, 17 in the FCT, 14 in Enugu State.

Others are; 13 in Niger State, 13 in Adamawa State, seven in Bayelsa State, six in Osun State, six in Bauchi State, four in Anambra State, three in Gombe State, two in Sokoto State, one in Imo State, and one in Kano State.

So far, as of 24th June, there were 22,020 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria; 7,613 discharged, with 542 deaths.
