Manchester United are close to completing the signing of Saul Niguez.
The Spain international could be heading to Old Trafford this summer when he said last weekend that he would soon be revealing his “new club”.
As it transpired, the announcement related to a football project in his hometown of Elche.
The 25-year-old move to old Trafford has continued to gather pace, though, and according to reports in Spain, the midfielder is set to join united this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are said to have agree a deal worth €80m (£71m) with Atletico, and the Spaniard is ready to leave the Wanda Metropolitano after falling out with head coach Diego Simone.
Saul, who has also been linked with Barcelona, has found the back of the net four times in 37 appearances during the 2019-20 run, including a goal against Liverpool in the last-16 stage of the Champions League.
The former Real Madrid youngster has a contract with Simeone’s side until June 2026.
