Liverpool have make moved to make Virgil van Dijk the highest paid player in the club’s history.

While the centre-back has a contract at Anfield until 2023, there has been frequent news regarding the player’s future as he considers the next phase of his career.

Although Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested on the 28-year-old, The Sun claims that Liverpool are on the brink of agreeing a new five-year contract with him.

The report says that the Netherlands international will earn £57m until the end of the 2024-25 campaign, a record pay packet offered by the Merseyside giants.
